They did a really good job at the M building a room for the players. Its well located with its own restrooms and both the Deli and Sportsbook next to it. Close-by parking (use the structure and you walk right into the room). I wish they would lower the rake on the morning tournament a bit but other than that, a good room with experienced dealers.
I like the M Resort a lot. They play to a somewhat more sophisticated crowd and they know how to treat them. The tournaments have good structure and decent stacks and they may have the best staff in any of the "locals" poker rooms. The action can be a bit tight with a lot of locals but the tournaments are great and the weekends are much softer.
This is a good room that's well run and brand new. The Poker Room is next the Sports Book, a great Deli, and near a parking lot door, so it's easy to get to. The games are loose and profitable for a passive-aggressive player. This is a room that locals and visitors should check out!
Although I took a loss at my last game at the M, I still really like this casino and it's brightly lit poker room. The tables, chips, and carpeting are all new. The colors and the decor are agreeable. The resort is sleek, modern, and luxurious. The dealers professional and efficient. In short there is very little to quibble with. If not for a string of bad cards, it wouldn't be hard to make money at the M, as the play is predictable and fairly aggressive. I was surprised to see a lot of women at the table (4 out of 10 players while I was there) but that may be because I was playing 4-8 limit, instead of my usual NL game. The room was packed when I arrived - it was a weekend, but I was seated quickly. If there is a waiting list the M poker staff sends you a text message when your seat is ready. If you're staying in a room at the resort a message will appear on your television.... No word yet on how they alert you if you're in your room having sex, but they're working on the technology for having the mattress vibrate violently when your seat has opened up. For the sedentary poker player this is a good place to play. Unlike the strip resorts (with the exception of the Wynn where the garage elevator drops you off steps from the poker room) you don't have to hike to the poker room from the parking area. The upper parking lot has an entrance not far at all from the poker room and sports book. Even when the casino is full the parking lot seems to have ample free parking. A couple of other notes. For beer aficionados the poker room is located right next to the 32 degrees bar. The bar has 96 beers from around the world on tap and they are all kept at the titular temperature. You can get any beer served to you at the poker tables gratis. Also for those who like their narcotics the old fashioned way, the M is the first resort to have a full service pharmacy right off the casino floor - that means you won't have any problems getting your Xanax prescription filled after a particularly bad beat. So what does the M stand for? It may well be mammaries......Albeit fake ones. The Cocktail waitress all seem to have enormous artificial enhanced breasts. Whoever does the hiring for the M seems to be fixated on thin women with large breasts. And the male customers, at least in the poker room, tip accordingly.
Although the M is advertised as a Las Vegas resort, it is technically in Henderson. It has a very pretty poker room. The most common games are low limit hold 'em and 1/2 no limit. They also spread Omaha, and 7 Stud when there is enough demand. The property is brand new, which is nice enough, but they also pipe in some kind of scent into the air. It is the first time I can remember walking into a casino, without being hit by the smell of old cigarette smoke. More places should do it.
