I've played everywhere in Black Hawk and I can honestly say that the Gilpin Poker room is the best there is. The dealers are by far the most skilled, friendly, knowledgeable people you'll ever have pitching cards to you. They're even better here than in Vegas. I won't comment on the $2/$5 game we're forced to play here in Colorado (it's just a horrible game). I will however talk about the many tournaments they have there. Mon-Thur at Noon there's a $40 tourney that's $10 + $10 + $10 + $10 rebuy, if you buy all 4 at the same time you get bonus chips and start with $5000, 15 minute levels, normally 4 to 6 tables of 10 players. Fri there's a similar tournament $60 total but really it's $20 + $20 + $20 and you start with $4500 chips, 20 minute levels, normally 5 to 6 tables. Sat & Sun $100, again $40 + $30 + 30 and I believe you start with $6000 chips, 20 minute levels, and it's rare that there aren't 6 full tables with people being turned away if they're not there by 11:15AM. Again it's just a great place to play.
