Played at Buffalo Thunder July 2010. On Tuesday night, they did not have enough interest for a 1-3 no-limit game. I went back the following night (Wednesday)night and there was one table (1-3 no limit)) that was going. There was a wait list, being about 5 people down, it took about 90 plus minutes to get on the table. Table was full of locals who all knew each other. Two decent players were at the table and I would say the rest were below average. If your in for a short stint and must play no-limit, you may want to drive down the road to the Sandia Casino that always has 1-2 no limit going.

Buffalo Thunder has a standing Wednesday $20-$40 game that has expanded to two tables starting at noon. The game runs pretty late into the evening. A $5-$5 PLO game is standard on Monday and Wednesday nights around 5 p.m. The $4-$8 Omaha h/l has been starting on Saturdays around 4 p.m. Daily games include $2-6 spread limit, $3-$6 limit, and $1-$3 no-limit. Best thing going late night is the 2:30 a.m. tournament on Friday and Saturday nights (Sat and Sun AM). Mostly employees from local nightclubs and few tourists make up this fun tournament. Newly started...18+ years old can now play in the room.

I played in this room since they opened the doors. They were doing well, then let the best floor person I have ever encountered go. (Trey Mingle) He had happy dealers, which in turn made happy customers. The room was almost always full, and the only thing that was lacking was the service from the restaurant, however Trey usually would go over there and get things handled. After he was let go, the room took a huge downward spiral, they also had Scott Pierce, and he left shortly after Trey. They were the only 2 in the room with a clue about how to run a card room. I now play in Sandia, at least there is action at Sandia. I will never return to Buffalo Thunder, unless they get those guys back. The room can hardly keep 2 games going on the weekends. Wake up mngmt, fix this problem.
